Mining & machine building

Mining & Machine Building

First In Service builds heavy machine assemblies, structural frames and conveyor elements for mining and machine building, machined from hardened and wear-resistant steels for high-impact, abrasive service. Fabrication, machining and assembly run in one 18,000 m² Tallinn workshop with 160-tonne lifting capacity, inspected by VT, PT and MT.

The economics of downtime

The replacement part is never the expensive part.

Mining equipment lives under shock loading, abrasion and duty cycles that no laboratory specification fully captures. When a crusher frame cracks or a conveyor structure fails, the cost is not the replacement component — it is the production hours lost while it is fabricated, shipped and installed. Which is why mining procurement values two things above price: structures built right the first time, and a supplier who can ship a 40-tonne weldment without a three-day permit negotiation.

Built for shock and abrasion

Heavy structures and large machined parts, close to the ship.

We fabricate and machine crusher and mill components, conveyor structures, frames, housings and wear-exposed assemblies up to 35×7×7 metres and 160 tonnes, in wear-resistant and high-strength steels as well as stainless and specialty alloys. Welding is certified to EN ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090-2, and large rotating parts are turned to Ø 2,700 mm on our vertical lathe.

FAQ

Questions mining & machine building buyers ask

What mining equipment components does First In Service manufacture?

Crusher and mill structural components, conveyor elements, frames, housings, wear-exposed structures and large machined parts up to 35×7×7 metres and 160 tonnes.

Do you work with wear-resistant steels?

Wear-resistant and high-strength steels are fabricated and machined alongside carbon steel, stainless, duplex and specialty alloys.

Can you machine large rings, flanges and housings?

Vertical turning reaches Ø 2,700 mm on the SC27 lathe, with overall machining envelope to Ø 2,700 mm and 13,000 mm length.

How are oversized mining structures transported?

Our Tallinn facility is 20 km from Muuga Harbour with direct heavy-haul road access and no urban restrictions, with ro-ro shipping available for components up to 160 tonnes.

What documentation ships with mining components?

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates (3.2 on request), dimensional inspection reports, weld documentation and NDT reports where scope requires.
